Pick a sample or paste one of your own. It is read here in your browser with the same rules the app uses, and nothing is sent anywhere. Change the sender to anything else and watch it get ignored: only real money senders can add entries.
Typed in K200 for Lombe yesterday, then the SMS arrived? CashDB puts the two side by side and asks: merge them, keep yours, or keep both. You choose how far apart they can be, from one day to two weeks.
Airtel's send charges aren't in the SMS. Open the entry and CashDB suggests the fee from Airtel's tariff, effective 4 January 2026. It is saved as its own line and shown inside its payment, so the balance matches your wallet.
Money that leaves Standard Chartered and lands in your wallet within 30 minutes is spotted as one transfer. CashDB adds the K10 bank charge and keeps the move itself out of your reports and budgets.
Reports for 7, 30 or 90 days mark the days you spent far more than usual. Monthly budgets per category show what is left, and copy forward to next month in one tap.
Sign in and your books sync. At a desk you can search a year of entries, fix categories, set budgets and import a cashbook.in export. Changes reach the phone at its next sync.
A few minutes on day one, then the book mostly keeps itself. You decide which messages go into which book.

Why isn't it on the Play Store? Google lets very few apps read SMS. CashDB is installed straight from this site, and Android asks once whether your browser may install apps.
Which messages does it read? Only those from the AirtelMoney, MoMo and StanChart senders. A message from any other number is ignored even if it looks like a payment, so a fake SMS can't add an entry.
Does it work without data? Yes. Everything lives on the phone. It syncs when you are online and signed in.
Do I need an account? No. An account adds backup, sync between phones and the web app. The phone app works fully without one.
What goes to the server? Your entries: amount, date, party, category and remark. For bank messages without a reference number, the message text is part of the entry's ID, so it is stored too. If you never sign in, nothing leaves the phone.
Does it work on iPhone? The app doesn't: reading SMS needs Android. The web app works in any browser, iPhone included.
Can I bring my cashbook.in books? Yes. Export a CSV from cashbook.in and import it into any book, on the phone or the web. Importing the same file twice adds nothing.
Which banks and wallets? Airtel Money, MTN MoMo and Standard Chartered for now. Cash you record by hand works the same way.
More than one business? Yes. Businesses hold books, books hold entries, and every book keeps its own running balance.
What if I delete an SMS entry? It stays deleted. CashDB remembers it, so the next rescan won't bring it back.
Your first rescan reads the last 30 days, so the book opens already full.
